It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Textile Engineering (FTE) at Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). As the Dean of this esteemed faculty, I take great pride in introducing you to the vibrant world of textile education and research that flourishes within our boundaries. Our University is widely recognized for its specialization in Textile Engineering, and it serves as a centre for innovation, creativity, and technical proficiency. Here, we are dedicated to shaping the future of textile engineering by nurturing the next generation of textile engineers, endowing them with the skills and knowledge to propel the industry forward. Our faculty is comprised of two dynamic departments: the Department of Yarn Engineering and the Department of Fabric Engineering.

The Department of Yarn Engineering is dedicated to the science and technology of yarn production, covering a wide range of topics from natural to man-made fibre and conventional to advanced spinning techniques. Our students gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art machinery, preparing them for successful careers in the textile industry as well as merchandising. Meanwhile, the Department of Fabric Engineering focuses on fabric production, including weaving, knitting, and non-woven fabric technologies using various structure and design. Our programs combine theoretical knowledge with practical applications to ensure that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the textile industry. The success of our faculty is anchored by our committed and exceptionally skilled teachers. Their extensive knowledge and enthusiasm are instrumental in moulding the future of textile engineering, making our faculty stand out as truly exceptional.
