From the establishment in 2010, Textile Fashion & Design department of BUTEX is dedicated for building flexible, resourceful and creative fashion practitioners with well-developed transferable and interpersonal skills for local and international clothing & fashion business. The department offers a comprehensive design education at undergraduate level for dedicated and ambitious individuals looking for a specialist career within the creative arena of the fashion and textile industry. It encourages the development of individual design identity through the translation of personal research into design ideas underpinned with strong technical skills and 3D realization. As textile and garments (RMG) sector is playing the key role for earning foreign currency of Bangladesh, so the graduates of this department are expecting to keep a greater contribution for the development of this by innovating and diversifying textile, clothing and fashion business.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The course offered from this department equips oneself with the necessary knowledge, skills and attributes to succeed in a wide range of careers related to fashion and textile. The course blends individual creativity, technical knowledge of textiles and commercial realism, and one will be able to apply his/her skills & knowledge of the professional design process for innovating something special. The course is designed to reflect contemporary practice in the fashion industry. Individual creativity, both in fashion design and fashion styling, balanced with realism, are key factors underlying the ethos of this course. Students are encouraged to explore their individual talents through the application of the professional design process, from concept to final product.
