Director (Research and Extension) is an important administrative position for the research and outreach of the campus. Director is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the university from the faculty members of BUTEX. She/he is responsible for the management of research, innovation, publications, research planning, implementation, research related activities and communication with public and private sectors and also other responsibilities assigned by the Vice-Chancellor to enhance the research area. The research and outreach program of BUTEX is conducted by Directorate of Research & Extension System (DRES). The main responsibilities of this unit is management of research, innovation, research publications, research planning, implementation, research related activities and research related communication with public and private sectors in nation and international level. The research and extension unit actively encourage the local, national and international research collaboration to mobilize the knowledge through matching peoples, partnerships/industrial partnerships, innovation the emerging technology, undergraduate or postgraduate students, internships, etc. The research and extension unit create learning environment through discovery and innovation and facilitate opportunities for UG and PG students to engage with research activities for all technical field of study. The unit has also role to raise awareness and interest of the students, disseminating and celebrating the research results and achievements.
BUTEX is very much interested to establish international collaborative agreement with foreign universities to enhance the research and skills. The university has collaborative projects with foreign universities and will extend further to enhance the research work, technical knowledge and skills. The collaborative areas covered are Joint research activities, Joint hosting of seminars, conferences and symposia, Exchange of students both UG and PG, Exchange of faculty members, Exchange of academic materials, publications and information, Other academic exchange, etc. under the collaboration, faculties and students take opportunities to enrich their research knowledge and technical skills.
